North Carolina Venue Tour, 2025

I absolutely love being a wedding photographer and some of my favorite things about my job are exploring new wedding venues, meeting other talented wedding vendors and of course newly engaged couples who are madly in love!

On an warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, I had the most fabulous time exploring some truly incredible wedding and event venues in the eastern and central parts of our beautiful state of North Carolina! I had the chance to tour four stunning venues, and I’m excited to share what I discovered.

First up: Magnolia Cottage Events & Venue at Bell Ridge Farm, located in Carthage, NC. If you’re a couple who loves the outdoors, this venue is an absolute gem. Originally starting as an event planning business, owner Crystal Smith-Ross has thoughtfully transformed the property into a charming rural venue that’s both spacious and welcoming. The outdoor ceremony space is truly something special, framed by a serene, tree-lined backdrop that gives off total fairytale vibes. Right outside the main building, there’s a cozy patio area complete with outdoor couches, chairs, and the soft sounds of a petite water fountain—there’s just something so calming about the sound of trickling water that instantly puts you at ease. A short walk down the path leads to a large, roof-covered pavilion that’s perfect for hosting grand weddings and celebrations. Just beyond that, you’ll find an expansive flat lawn, bordered by lush trees and immaculately kept grass—ideal for any type of outdoor setup or lawn games. Inside the main building, the rooms are beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed, making them perfect for getting-ready photos and bridal portraits. Every corner of this venue has been crafted with love and intention—Magnolia Cottage is a must-see for couples seeking a peaceful, nature-inspired wedding day.
